The Candid Frame #39 - Alison Overton


Alison Overton is a fine-art photographer who blends the qualities of photography and painting in her moody, gothic landscapes. Using cameras as simple as the toy-like Holga and transparent oils, she transforms her photographs into something more than a document of a scene.

A native of North Carolina , she was been awarded Regional Artists Project Grants for 2000-2001 and 2003-2004 from the North Carolina Arts Council. Her work has been exhibited in New York City, Colorado, West Virginia, South Carolina, Virginia and in over 75 exhibits in North Carolina. You can discover her work by visiting her website.

Matthew Gregory Hollis is a Chicago-based photographer whose images explore the territory of sexuality, race and masculinity. His images are both beautiful and striking, while at the same time challenging assumptions of race and sex. Whether creating black and white or color photographs, Matthew is a photographer who isn't shy about using his personal experiences to inspire his imagery.
