Craig Semetko is a Los Angeles based photographer known for the sense of humor running through his work. The foreword for his first book, UNPOSED, was written by Magnum Photos icon Elliott Erwitt, who wrote of Semetko “...he is the essential photographer. That is, the one who sees what others could not have seen.” Semetko was selected as one of 10 photographers worldwide to be a part of Leica Camera’s 10 x10 exhibition in honor of its 100 year anniversary and grand opening of its new manufacturing and cultural complex in May, 2014, in Wetzlar, Germany.
Over 50 of his prints are currently showing through May 25th, 2014 at the Leica Gallery Los Angeles, and his work has been exhibited in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Salzburg, Denver, Durango, Colorado and Washington, D.C. His prints hang in private collections in the US, Europe and Asia. He spent the fall of 2013 traveling throughout India, resulting in his just released new book, INDIA UNPOSED, available at www.indiaunposed.com.
