Jerry Monkman is an outdoor photographer and film maker who specializes in conservation issue affecting the Northeastern U.S.  His work has been used in publications around the world and his images have been used in more than 100 land conservation projects since 2000. He is also the author of 9 books, including The AMC Guide to Outdoor Digital Photography, which won a 2012 National Outdoor Book Award. The Candid Frame #183 - Don Komarechka

Don Komarechk is a Barrie, Canada based nature & landscape photographer with a passion for photographing the unseen world. From abandoned buildings to swirling stars, lightning to snowflakes, Don’s images convey a sense of curiosity and wonder.

Active in the photographic community, Don is a teacher, author and explorer. Writing a regular column in Outdoor Photography Canada and teaching many nature photography workshops, he’s always willing to share his knowledge and secrets. 

Seeing the world beyond visual perception is a driving force is Don’s photography. His latest project is an in-depth study of snowflakes. From a photographic perspective and with a scientific mind, the images offer a compelling look into a subject we rarely appreciate. Technically challenging and time-consuming to create, Don’s images illustrate that exploring new worlds can happen two feet from your door.

The Candid Frame #170 - Colby Brown

Colby Brown is a professional photographer, photo educator and author based out of Denver, Colorado. He specializes in landscape, travel and humanitarian photography. Throughout his work one can see that he combines his love of the natural world with his fascination of the world’s diverse cultures. Each of his photographs tells a story of life on this planet. 

While specializing in landscape and travel photography, Colby Brown, also does freelance photojournalism and donates his time to many Non Profit organizations while out in the field. He is a citizen of both the US and Canada, a certified PADI Master Diver and Wilderness First Responder.  He has worked as a photography instructor for National Geographic Student Expeditions and is currently focusing much of his time and energy on Humanitarian efforts around the globe.

The Candid Frame #153 - Robert Rodriguez Jr.

Robert Rodriguez Jr. was trained as a musician and graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1990 and was a music producer for 12 years before transitioning to landscape photography and the desire to spend as much time in nature.

With visual story telling,  he discovered the potential to express a more creative and personal vision. Focusing on the Hudson Valley allowed Robert to discover not only beautiful landscapes often taken for granted, but the changing mood and character of the region. Seeking to capture the beauty, or convey the emotional qualities of a place or moment in nature, his images have elicited responses ranging from evocative, to spiritual and breathtaking. He frequently travels beyond in search of other dramatic and unique locations, including New England, the southwest, and Canada.

Robert takes pride in a hands on approach to creating his expressive prints, working on every stage, from the initial exposure and processing, to printing and framing. The Candid Frame #152 - Brian Matiash

Brian Matiash is a professional photographer as well as the Education Manager for OnOne Software. In his role as an educator, he teaches photographers how to improve their photographs and their editing skills with his many webinars, articles and blog entries, but he also has his own passion for photography.

The Candid Frame #117 - Alia Malley

Alia Malley is a fine-art photographer who's landscapes of Southern California reveal a different aspect of the City of Angels than is popularized in television and film. Her photographs capture the natural scenes that exist in the midst of urban sprawl, and make connections not only to the city's current populace but also to the people of the recent and the distant past who have called SoCal home. Her recent effort to publish a book of her series of images entitled "A Cavalier in Sight of a Village" resulted in a very successful attempt  of crowd-funding using Kickstarter.
